Our Mission
We're a volunteer-led community initiative born from a wall of IOUs at Noble Halal Market in Yuba City, where store owner Mohammad Marouf Sharifi—a former U.S. military interpreter—extends credit to refugee families struggling to make ends meet.
"I would change my home, but I won't change my country. I won't leave America."
- Recent Afghan Refugee in Yuba City
Why This Matters
In early 2025, over 10,000 fully vetted refugees had their travel plans canceled, including 83 Afghans expected by Sacramento area resettlement agencies. Behind these numbers are real families—people who risked everything to help America, now waiting for America to help them.
Noble Halal Market Support
Help cover grocery IOUs for refugee families at Mohammad Marouf Sharifi's store (885 Gray Ave, Yuba City), where fresh Afghan bread, traditional ingredients, and a wall of small debts represents our community's trust and resilience.
Future Initiatives
We're developing additional support programs to address education, healthcare, and other needs in our refugee community. Stay tuned for updates.
We are a volunteer-led community initiative, not a registered nonprofit. Donations are not tax-deductible. 100% of funds go directly toward supporting refugee needs as described in each campaign.
